Laying the Groundworks

When it comes to sales, you've got to be consistently persistent. Every conversation needs to be fruitful, either in gathering more information about your potential client, or in creating a rapport with your clients.

This is my second month in sales. I believe that one cannot truly appreciate success without first experiencing failure. And there have been PLENTY of failures. I've learnt to handle the rejections well.

Today, I could sense the fruits of my labour starting to blossom. I've got potential clients lined up for the next week or two. The only question to be answered is, when will these potentials turn into SALES?

They say that when it rains, it pours. It's a holiday tomorrow... independence day. For me, it's a well deserved rest for the last few weeks of intense pitching.

Here's hoping for a great week ahead!

Minor Setback

Lost that third deal, due to some unforeseen circumstances beyond my control... oh well... we start on a new product next week, so a fresh start to a new month.

In the meantime, there's a separate product open to the entire division. There's even a USD50 bonus thrown in for every sale. Fingers crossed, and toes too if I could.

So close, I can almost taste it

Got another one today. From the same company. Lady luck has been smiling sweetly over me. But I know I'm going to have to work like a horse to get that final deal in. I've got 5 days left. Targets, targets, targets. Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines.

I got my first TWO deals today. After 2 weeks of non-stop telephone calls, and numerous rejections, I finally managed to convince a company to sign on the dotted line. I was only expecting ONE, so I was pleasantly surprised. The fax came through the night before.

In any case, I've been on Cloud Nine all day. I'm just another two deals away from confirmation and a larger paycheck. Here's hoping that my persistence pays off in the next few days.
